The Brno ZG 47 rifle was in regular production from 1950 to approximately 1966/1967.
The rifle was designed in 1947 by engineer Otakar Galas, which is how it received its model number. Actual production in small quantities started in 1950, with the first rifle (serial number 00001) having a date stamp of „50“ (1950).
